Arizona's Aussie Saddle Dealer
Hello, welcome to Desert Moon Tack...since 2004, my name is Christa and
have made this business my personal passion. I am a qualified dealer and
specialize in the fitting, sales and maintenance of Australian saddles to the
residents of Arizona. I created this specialized business back in 2004 after
discovering it was a niche market...and the need for an Aussie Saddle expert
was needed in Arizona. I started out sponsoring local horse events and selling
out of my dealer trailer. I later expanded to an online store for the convenience
of customers outside of Arizona. In 2008 I had the opportunity to expand and
added a storefront in Apache Junction. The down economy effected me as
well, and I had to close up my shop in 2009. I'm starting over with my dealer
trailer and out sponsoring horse events and setting appointments again. I've
come full circle and am in hopes to bring my website back with the popular
Saddle University, Trail Gallery, Happy Customers, News Articles and
purchasing options. I appreciate all the support that my customers & friends
have given me the past several years.
I live in the Superstition Mountain desert and am a 4th generation Arizona
native. I value quality made products and positive minded friends. I currently
have 2 horses that I trail ride with....Zephyr a Rocky Mountain Horse and Rex
an Appendix ex-racer. I prefer to ride Barefoot if possible, a Combo Aussie
saddle, wool Seat Saver and Pad, Cashel pad, Safety Oxbows, Halter Bridle
and Stowaway packs.
I have picked well known suppliers that provide a wide range of styles, options
and warranties. The suppliers boast of the quality of workmanship produced
and have the experience to back them up. I've carefully chosen products from
these suppliers that I feel are of the quality I would like to be known for. My
suppliers are Southern Cross Saddlery, Aussie Stock Saddle Co, Down Under
Saddle Supply, Cashel and Easycare.
Australian Saddles are Comfortable, Secure and Lightweight.
They have adjustable Wood/Steel Trees that can be fitted for any breed of
horse...Quarters, Arabs, Mules, Drafts, Gaiters of all shapes and sizes!
Deep seats and Poley's allow for all disciplines...Endurance, Beginners,
Broncos, Handicapped, Speed Events, Polo-cross, Training in English or
Dressage, Herding...just about anything!

Can't afford a New Saddle or Tack? Does your existing gear have hair, sweat
stains or cracking?I provide professional cleaning & oiling services for Western,
Endurance, Aussie and English saddles and tack. I can make it look almost new
again by restoring leather of all kinds using special formulated oils from
Australia. Aussie saddles can also get Re-Awled, New Stuffing and New Billet
Straps.
Now that you are out riding and enjoying life, the leather products you have
purchased will begin to crack, rip and disintegrate if not cleaned and oiled. The
worst thing a saddle owner can do is let the sweat and dirt buildup so much that
deep cracking begins. Once you have deep cracking you are compromising the
safety and function of the saddle. All leather, no matter if it is from a garage
sale, popular supplier, collectors item, if it is worth $100 or $3000, must be
preserved. If you are thinking of selling your saddle or trading it in, cleaning and
oiling will bring the value up instantly. How often you clean and oil your saddle
depends on how much you ride and the environment that the saddle is stored in.
I recommend a good clean and oil for all working saddles every three months.
You may have an older saddle that you have retired to your living room under
the air conditioning, these saddles need to be oiled maybe only once a year. I
provide this service and use products from Australia, where the environment is
comparable to the Arizona desert.
